Set the range before contacting JCSO. “The last three days” can shift while a request is being read. Exact timestamps let the custodian locate an existing date-range report and let the requester test whether a departure falls inside the chosen period. - Write the three-day start and end date and time. Add the person's full name or known booking data if the request is person-specific.

- Request actual release time, release reason, court or agency authority, destination, transfer agency, and any holds shown at departure.
- Search Jefferson OCRS for matching bond, disposition, sentence, or release-related filings.
- If the result is a transfer, open the receiving custodian's official locator. Use FDC for state custody and the correct federal source for federal custody.

Jefferson County 72-Hour Record Fields

Bond data alone does not prove departure. A bond may be authorized while another hold remains. A court order also shows what the judge directed, not the minute the person passed out of JCSO custody. Pair those records with the jail's actual departure field and then follow any destination agency.

Jefferson County Intake Report Limits
An archived September 2022 snapshot shows what Jefferson's old vendor page contained. Its title was “MEDIA INTAKE REPORT SUMMARY-WEB.” Under one generated timestamp it displayed different processed dates, names, case and intake identifiers, Resident IDs, bail values, bond types, charges, and small photographs. The page did not display release dates, release times, release reasons, a released status, or a 72-hour control. Those facts classify it as an intake or current-population report, not a rolling release log.

The archived screen helps identify former intake fields, but it supplies no current feed cadence and no proof of a release event.
That distinction is Jefferson County's key data quirk. If a name vanishes, only one statement is safe: the person is not shown on the checked view. The person may have left for the community, transferred, been entered under different identifying data, or simply disappeared because the page failed. Retention of the underlying record is governed separately from web display. Ask JCSO whether it holds the record instead of treating the 404 as lost official data.
Jefferson County Weekend Release Range
A 72-hour range can span several business and nonbusiness days, which is why it is often more practical than a same-day check. Yet the research found no Jefferson County promise that weekend or holiday departures are posted to a public list on a set schedule. Court entries, VINE events, and receiving-agency records can also post at different times. The wider interval catches more possible dates, but it does not cure source lag.
Use the actual departure timestamp as the anchor. If the court docket shows a Friday bond order but JCSO records a later physical departure, the JCSO time answers the custody question. If a transfer occurred late in the range, the receiving agency may not display the person at once. Search again after the relevant database update and contact the custodian if the records conflict. Jefferson County Release Form Trail
The Jefferson County Clerk offers a durable source when the jail's public intake link is broken. Its felony division states that an official file prepared after a felony arrest includes the original arrest document and any release form. The file can also contain bond orders, case events, disposition, sentence, jail credit, and later orders. That record may remain useful after an intake roster no longer shows a name.

Use OCRS first. Search spelling variants and select the case tied to the booking. If the needed order or form is not online, request it from the clerk. The clerk's fee policy is separate from JCSO's: it states $1 per page, including a PDF, with the first 30 minutes of deputy time free and an employee-dependent hourly charge after that. Do not apply those clerk charges to sheriff records.
Jefferson County Release Source Map
The correct follow-up depends on where custody went. A person who completed a county jail event may appear in the court file and JCSO release record.
